Nirmaan's school solar work has delivered measurable results: GHS Sanath Nagar in Hyderabad saves ₹35,000–40,000 per month in electricity bills following a solar installation supported by DBS Tech India, directly benefiting 1,600 students. A 10 kW on-grid system for a school of up to 300 students costs approximately $8,800 all-in; a 5 kW system for a smaller school runs around $4,889. Solar drinking water borewells supply up to 80,000 litres per day for student hygiene, toilets, and handwashing. Systems come with a 5-year warranty and are designed for a 25-year operational life. Eco-clubs, science teachers, and parent-teacher associations serve as stewards, integrating energy monitoring into the school curriculum. Field-assessed schools in Telangana and Karnataka — including KGBV residential schools for girls from marginalised communities — are already queued for the first funding phase.
