WOW - Women In Business

WOW - Women In Business

Empower women in underserved communities to move beyond survival income and build sustainable small businesses through practical entrepreneurship training, financial literacy, digital marketing skills, and structured coaching support.

This initiative draws from Women Of Will’s Entrepreneurship Development Programme (WOWED), implemented across Malaysia since 2016. WOWED combines entrepreneurship training, one-to-one coaching, seed support, wellbeing check-ins, and a community-based repayment approach that strengthens long-term sustainability.

Since 2016, Women Of Will has supported over 3,000 women entrepreneurs across 60 communities in Malaysia through structured entrepreneurship and leadership programmes.

The focus is on enabling communities to design income-generating projects that are realistic, sustainable, and aligned with broader social and economic development goals.
The approach reflects WOW’s wider experience in microcredit financing and community businesses, where small enterprises act as catalysts for confidence, financial literacy, and local leadership development. Rather than delivering one-off workshops, the model supports consistent follow-through, accountability, and reflection so that income gains are practical and sustained.

How to get involved

Time: Participants attend structured learning sessions over an 8 to 10 month programme period. During the first 3 to 4 months, participants join two training sessions per month, each lasting approximately 4 hours. These sessions cover entrepreneurship foundations, financial literacy, and digital marketing. During the next 3 to 4 months, participants attend two coaching sessions per month, each lasting approximately 1 hour, where they receive guidance, review business progress, and troubleshoot challenges. The remaining period allows participants to apply their learning, track progress, and participate in programme monitoring and reporting activities.
