Solar Women Upskilling is implemented by Solar Village Project, an organisation dedicated to delivering reliable solar energy solutions in underserved communities. The organisation specialises in community-scale installations that power essential services such as education, healthcare, and digital access.
The programme combines technical instruction with real-world system exposure. Trainees practice on live or demonstration systems, learning how to identify common faults, document service visits, and escalate complex issues appropriately.
Each cohort builds local technical capacity, increases the speed of maintenance response, and establishes a structured six-month paid engagement for qualified women. This model reduces dependence on external technicians while strengthening community ownership of renewable energy infrastructure.
