Bring your community together to heal local land through hands-on ecosystem restoration: planting trees, improving soil health, and creating living examples of regeneration that benefit people and nature alike.
The Ecosystem Restoration Communities (ERC) movement began in 2017 and now includes nearly 90 independent community projects across six continents. Each site is locally led, demonstrating practical methods of reforestation, water retention, and regenerative agriculture that restore ecological function while supporting community wellbeing.
ERCs are supported by the Ecosystem Restoration Foundation, which provides tools, monitoring systems, and training through its global network. In 2024 alone, over 41,000 people participated in restoration activities, achieving a 77% average tree survival rate after one year.
