Hour of AI was developed by Code.org in partnership with AI experts to make artificial intelligence education widely accessible. It builds on the global success of Hour of Code, which has reached over 1.6 billion students worldwide.
The resources include beginner-friendly activities such as training a computer to recognize patterns, exploring how large language models generate text, or debating ethical scenarios like bias in algorithms. Activities are designed to run in classrooms, libraries, after-school programs, or community centers.
Hour of AI is suitable for learners from middle school to adults, with adaptations for younger audiences. No prior technical experience is required, just curiosity and a willingness to explore. For educators, it also aligns with broader computer science and digital literacy goals, helping communities prepare for a future shaped by AI.
