Frequently asked questions

  • How does the application process work?

We aim to make the application process as quick and easy as possible. You will be asked to fill out a form sharing information about your organization and project, including a project description, its potential impact and scope, along with some other details.

Once submitted, your application goes through a few stages of review. First, we check it meets the fund's eligibility criteria and assess the quality of your proposal. Our delivery partner, Nirmaan, then carries out a technical feasibility assessment, which includes a visit to your site to review things like roof space, electrical setup, and structural suitability. All of this information is taken into account in making decisions about which projects will be selected for funding.

If your project is approved for funding, Nirmaan's technical team will finalize the engineering design and drawings before implementation begins. You'll also need to complete some simple steps within 30 days, including reading through the impact reporting requirements and sharing a post on your ChangeX project page.

  • What are the reporting requirements and funding process?

Nirmaan will receive the funding directly and cover all implementation costs, however, you are responsible for reporting back on impact for your solar project. Once the project has been implemented, we'll ask you to fill out a short impact survey and post a summary with photos on the ChangeX website, which will also be shared with Nirmaan and ServiceNow.

  • How does funding work?

Funds flow directly to Nirmaan, who will cover and manage all implementation costs on behalf of your project. No funds will be transferred directly to your community group.

Instead of receiving a cash grant, all costs related to your project's setup and implementation will be handled and paid for by Nirmaan.

The value of the support allocated to your project will still be visible on your ChangeX project page, but this reflects the cost of implementation rather than a cash amount you will receive.

  • How will I receive the funding?

No funds will be transferred directly to your community group. Nirmaan will cover and manage all implementation costs on behalf of your project.

  • How much funding will I get?

The amount of funding available for your project depends on the idea you choose. Funding amounts align with the cost of starting each project in your region. The maximum amount of funding available per project is stated in the green box above.

Funds will be sent directly to Nirmaan, who will cover and manage all implementation costs on behalf of your project. No funds will be transferred directly to your community group.

  • How many projects can I apply for?

Given the limited resources available, each organisation is only eligible to submit one application as part of this fund.

  • How can I ask for accessibility support?

If you require any additional support to complete the application process or access resources please contact [email protected] and we will help.
