Eartheasy School Garden

Eartheasy School Garden

Transform your school grounds into a hands-on learning environment where students grow food, connect with nature, and develop practical life skills through gardening.

Eartheasy has supported schools, businesses, and government institutions for over a decade with gardening resources and expertise. Research shows school gardens offer multiple benefits: enhanced learning outcomes, stronger school-community connections, improved immune systems through outdoor activity, reduced childhood obesity, and better emotional wellbeing.

Gardens can serve various purposes from curriculum enhancement to cafeteria supply. Some schools focus on therapeutic benefits, while others emphasise composting and waste reduction. The flexibility allows each school to tailor their garden to specific educational goals and community needs.

Successful gardens typically feature 5-10 committee members representing administration, teachers, students, parents, and community volunteers. This diverse representation ensures sustainability and prevents individual burnout. Many schools host community "dig days" to launch their gardens, creating excitement and ownership among all stakeholders.

How to get involved

Time: As much or as little time as you have! Your garden will absorb as much time as you give it. We recommend 4-8 hours of initial planning and design time, half a day of sourcing and securing materials, one full dig day, and a few hours a week of maintenance.
