Earth Cubs Plogging Clubs

Earth Cubs Plogging Clubs

Earth Cubs brings interactive climate education to primary schools through engaging assemblies and weekly Plogging Clubs, where children learn sustainability whilst keeping fit by collecting litter in their community.

Earth Cubs was founded with the ambitious goal of inspiring and educating 1 billion children by 2030, supporting the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Their unique storytelling approach features characters like 'Nigel the Nervous Narwhal' to make environmental concepts accessible and memorable.

Plogging, which combines jogging with litter picking, originated in Sweden and has become a global movement promoting both physical fitness and environmental stewardship. Research shows that early environmental education significantly influences lifelong attitudes towards sustainability and conservation.

The programme provides open-source educational content through the Earth Cubs platform, ensuring accessibility for diverse communities. Their resources have been praised for meeting Early Years curriculum requirements whilst maintaining high engagement levels.

Earth Cubs offers detailed guidance on what plogging involves and provides ongoing support to ensure programme sustainability. The initiative creates measurable impact through regular reporting and feedback collection from participants, schools, and communities.
