Biodiversity in Schools

The year-long biodiversity sponsorship was developed by Biodiversity in Schools, Ireland’s largest provider of in-school nature education programmes. The organisation has supported thousands of students nationwide through structured biodiversity workshops, teaching kits, and community partnerships.

The toolkit includes curriculum-linked activities, planting guidance, wildlife signage, and seasonal learning supports. Facilitators also gain access to additional downloadable materials through Biodiversity in Schools’ free resource library, which includes lesson plans, biodiversity guides, and activity sheets designed to support environmental learning across age groups.

The programme aligns with sustainability goals and outdoor education frameworks. It works in rural and urban settings, as long as participants have access to a suitable outdoor planting area. Activities can integrate with science, geography, wellbeing, and citizenship programmes, making it adaptable across formal and non-formal education settings.
