The Wing Wing Bee Restaurant is a climate crisis response business model that grows perilla seeds to protect bees that are disappearing due to the climate crisis.
This project prohibits the use of pesticides in perilla farming for bees (Buzzing Bee Restaurant). When bees eat honey and pollen contaminated with pesticides, they suffer from nervous system problems, lose their sense of direction, and die without being able to find their hives. Participants may have concerns about perilla cultivation and production. A change in thinking and practice is needed to realize the value of protecting bees and soil by not using pesticides. In order to avoid using pesticides, you can hand-pull the weeds that grow wild in the summer and set up traps to catch perilla leaf beetles. The grass grows at a frightening rate, but you must resist the temptation to use herbicides. It is okay if the harvest is slightly reduced in the fall. Perilla, which is carefully cultivated for bees, is made into perilla oil. If pesticides are detected in the perilla seeds after inspection, they cannot be used for making perilla oil, so please be sure to keep your promise not to use pesticides.
