Teachmeet Ireland was founded in March 2014 by educators Kathleen Byrne and Ciara Brennan under the name of Teachmeet Ireland Primary East. They were inspired by successful Teachmeets in the UK and the US and wanted to bring something similar to Ireland. Having attended a number of CESI-meets in Ireland, Kathleen and Ciara believed there was scope to expand on these meetings to not only include IT focused topics, but all aspects of education. The first Teachmeet was held on World Book Day entitled ‘New Chapters in Education’ and with over 100 attendees was a roaring success. Now they want to help the initiative spread right across the country.
How to get involved
Time:
Allow 1 hour a week for 4 weeks
to prepare for your Teachmeet. The
event itself will be about 1.5 to 2
hours.
