Every day we hear about crises, disasters, and an uncertain future. It's no wonder that almost half of young people are worried about climate change and the future. Many feel unmotivated, some even helpless.
But this is exactly where we come in.
The non-profit Solarbildung, Solar Education in German, aims to show students that you can take your energy future into your own hands. You are not powerless. Quite the opposite. Together, we transform worry into confidence, doubt into energy, and helplessness into courage.
Because the future belongs to you. And you have everything you need to shape it.
Since 2021, Solar Education is committed to bring education about renewable energy to schools. With a team of 20 students, numerous volunteers with vast experience in the field, and an academic advisory board, we have created effective teaching materials: 7 high-quality teaching tools, over 100 school lessons hours, in 4 languages.
Thanks to our supporters we were able to make these successes possible: over 200 partner schools use our materials with 10,000 students in 4 countries: Germany, Austria, England and Ireland.
In August 2025, Solarbildung was awarded the 2025/26 National Award for Education for Sustainable Development from the German UNESCO Commission and the Federal Ministry of Education.
How to get involved
Time:
The time spent in class can be determined by the teachers themselves. We offer a science kit, a solar kit, and teaching units from 30 minutes to 6 hours. The science kit, for example, offers 4 different experiments of up to 45 minutes each in the physics room.
